MELISSA BARTUCCI
Assistant Director and Photographer, Nomad Contemporary Ballet
Melissa Bartucci left California behind to train at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. She guested with various dance companies, including Ballet West before settling with the Eglevsky Ballet under the Direction of Jane Miller Gifford as a Principal Dancer. She retired from dancing to start and raise a family, picked up a camera and became a rockstar Dance Photographer.
As a photographer, she has captured innovative choreographers behind the scenes such as Adrienne Hurd, Princess Grace Award Recipient Norbert De La Cruz III, Dwight Rhoden. Dance companies such as Complexions Contemporary Ballet, RIOULT, OUI DANSE, Tom Gold Dance and Joffrey Concert Group.
As Assistant Director of Nomad Contemporary Ballet, Melissa is an invaluable resource in rehearsals as well as in the administration of the company. She serves as a Coach, Rehearsal Mistress and contact person for the many projects relating to Nomad.
