Teaching Course Evaluations

"Norbert is an amazing professor and I learned so much this semester. The vocabulary and language he used while teaching helped me to understand the exercises and apply corrections. I also loved how he incorporated helpful resources and presentations into the course to allow us to hear from others in the industry and gain further knowledge on being a dancer and performer. I truly loved this class and am so grateful for Norbert and his knowledge. "

"I have grown so much in this class in a way that I know will be relevant to my professional career. I loved that Norbert was open to meeting and sharing as much as he can with us about dance and also life as a dancer. Great class and great material."
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"This class was beneficial. I learned a lot about partnering, trusting others and myself, and how I work with others. Thank you for your patience with us and for showing us some of the many ways to express our creativity."
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"Norbert, in my opinion, did a great job attending to each student in the class in making sure they got what they needed. I felt encouraged and challenged throughout the course. I felt like I grew a lot and I hope I have him again."
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"What a semester it’s been, but I am so thankful I had this class in my rotation to keep me grounded and present. Norbert is an excellent teacher; so clear and concise, both with class expectations and explaining material...this class genuinely turned my entire life upside down. Norbert is so inspiring, as a teacher, dancer, and human being. I would be lying if I didn’t say this was one of my favorite classes I’ve ever had here! From his intellect in the classroom with body kinesthetics to his presentations on how to survive as a dancer, I feel as though I’ve walked out of Norbert’s class as a new dancer with a fresh perspective on what I can do with my life and career moving forward. If I could take this class 1,000 more times, I would. Norbert, thank you for being such an amazing teacher and such a huge influence on to who I strive to be as a dancer and human. Cheers to a great semester and many thanks :)"
(Junior Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"Incredible class and professor, I always enjoy Norbert's classes because there is so much material that gets covered in an organized and innovative way. This class specifically was one I always looked forward to I would have liked to have his class more than once a week because I believe we could've covered much more language and developed better partnerships with more time. I have gained a lot from this class and unlocked new ideas when it comes to choreography. I hope to have more classes like this as he pushes all of his students to mature and grow at a truly professional level."
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"I learned so much helpful material in this class, and it really helped me become more comfortable with partnering, which I did not have much experience with prior to this class"
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"After taking this class, I feel significantly stronger in my partnering and have a completely newfound skillset that I would definitely take into my career. Norbert is so great and was so helpful throughout the entire semester."
(Sophomore Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

"I really appreciate the care you show to each student as well as in the language you choose to communicate through. You have opened my eyes to be more thoughtful in the ways I communicate. I feel so lucky to get to learn from someone so legendary!"
(Junior Dancer, Point Park University School of Dance, Fall 2025)

“Norbert has a fluid and connected sense of movement and does such eye-catching things with ensemble and partner work...It’s exactly what we crave in the masterworks we bring in.”

"Norbert has created works for this company in the past, and I'm really impressed with what he put on the stage.  I also liked his way of working with young dancers, so that the creation of the ballet is truly a collaboration.  He gives them the freedom to create."   - ALFONSO MARTIN (TULSA BALLET II, Director)

"Working with Norbert De La Cruz III was a truly rewarding journey in self-discovery.  I learned that I could move in so many different ways outside of the classical realm.  Mr. De La Cruz continuously encouraged us to analyze why each movement is in the ballet, leading to a much deeper understanding of how dance can transcend technique and touch audiences from all backgrounds."
